About Guided
At Guided, we believe every student’s path is unique and that finding the right direction should feel exciting, not overwhelming. Founded by Avery Hillers, Guided exists to help students and families move forward with clarity, confidence, and a sense of calm during the college search and application process.
Avery’s passion for this work comes from her own journey. She graduated high school and college early and earned multiple scholarships throughout her time at Purdue University, ultimately covering her education in full. Along the way, she learned how transformative the right information, encouragement, and strategy can be.
Professionally, Avery has worked as a college financial aid advisor, helping students and families navigate the funding process with less stress and more success. She’s also spent time as a substitute teacher, connecting with students of all ages in the classroom. With a background in English and Business Management, Avery combines strong communication skills with practical, organized planning.
Outside of Guided, Avery is a published author and writes for a local magazine, work that reflects her love of storytelling, editing, and making information clear and engaging.
Why Choose Guided?
-
We believe no two students are the same, so no two plans should be either. Every strategy we create is tailored to the student’s individual strengths, challenges, interests, and goals.
-
From firsthand experience earning multiple scholarships and graduating debt-free to working professionally inside a college financial aid office, Avery understands the scholarship and funding process from both sides and knows how to make it work for you.
-
We don’t just focus on test scores or applications. We help with every stage of the process, from exploring schools and majors, to crafting strong essays, and making informed financial decisions.
-
College planning can feel overwhelming. We break down the process into clear, manageable steps and keep the atmosphere positive, so students stay motivated and confident.
-
We work to ensure students leave the process feeling proud of their accomplishments and secure in their choices, knowing they’ve put their best foot forward.
-
Parents are a vital part of this process. We maintain open communication and transparency so families feel informed, supported, and reassured every step of the way.
